Our Reception children have also been stepping back in time to explore what a visit to the seaside might have been like during the Victorian era. To bring their learning to life, part of the classroom was transformed into a wonderful Victorian seafront, complete with an ice cream parlour, beach hut and puppet show theatre! Through imaginative role play, storytelling and hands-on exploration, the children have been developing their communication and language skills, creativity and understanding of the world, while building confidence in speaking, listening, sharing ideas and working together.
This rich learning environment has sparked curiosity, encouraged conversations about the past, and provided countless opportunities for children to learn through play, exactly as we would hope to see in an engaging Early Years classroom. We are delighted to see the enthusiasm, imagination and enjoyment that the children have brought to this exciting Victorian adventure!
